Final Trip Before Baby Comes

Jimmy and I had to go to a conference in NC without Brynn, so we took a little side trip.  We visited his sister Beth and her husband Aaron, then headed to the mountains to hang out in the Boone area for a couple of days.  Our first vacation without Brynn. We missed her, but it was nice...the longest I've been without changing her diapers in over two years.

Drinking our Cheerwine after a visit to the Mast General Store...simple pleasures.

Where I used to go to church with my grandparents on my summer visits...so pretty.

Love the architecture here.

Jimmy eating breakfast in the lodge of our hotel.  Ahhh....North Carolina decor!

Relaxing by the duck pond at our hotel after breakfast.  I tossed some of my bagel crumbs to the ducks and they swam away from it...weird ducks.

Back in Georgia to pick up the munchkin - we missed her.
And of course Luke can't be brought into this world without his own deer head mount....thus our souvenir from NC.

Labor Day Weekend

At 4:30pm on Labor Day we decided to go to the beach...one of the perks of living so close to the beach.  It was so nice and not too hot.  We stayed until after the sun set.  A great way to end the day.

We did not build this sandcastle, but when the owners deserted it, we let Brynn play in it - she loved it!

The Saturday before Labor Day, we went with Jimmy's parents downtown to watch the FSU game on the big screen.  Brynn was a cute little cheerleader and FSU won big.

Cheering is exhausting!

Playdates

Brynn's best buddy at church is Palmer.  Last week they were promoted to the next age group in the nursery, but the class was so big they were split up into separate classes.  Although they noticed the other was missing from class, I think we moms were more upset than they were.  Luckily we were invited over to play - we'll have to depend on playdates so Brynn and Palmer can keep playing together.

Where have our children gone?

Peek-a-boo never gets old.

Grace came over the other day while her mom and brother were at swimming lessons.
Here are the girls sharing a snack...they are so cute together.

Brynn's Artwork

We try to hide all the pens in the house, but she somehow always finds them.  We usually wash pen from her body twice a week, but this is her best work yet.  We dread the day she finds a permanent sharpie marker.

3 More Months to go....REALLY?

Here is the long-awaited belly shot of me with baby Luke at 28 weeks.  I've been so bad at doing belly shots this pregnancy.  I looked like this at 9 months pregnant with Brynn.

Is it possible I'm only 6 months pregnant.
Seriously???

Last Day of Swim Lessons

Brynn has been taking a parent and tot swim class at the Y this summer.  I let Jimmy take over the last few lessons since Brynn had a tendency to kick my belly a lot in the pool.  Here are some pics of her last lesson.

I love this picture even though it's blurry.
Jimmy is trying to teach Brynn how to blow bubbles.

Brynn and her friend Grace.

That water is cold!
I couldn't get them to smile or look at the camera at the same time.

What A Difference A Year Makes!

I'm blown away at how fast a year goes by and how much my baby changes! In just a year, my sweet girl with those baby-fat legs has grown into a little girl with whom I have full conversations. As I sat at the fountain in the park watching her play, I felt like I had just watched her take her first steps only a short time ago. Now she is running laps around the splash ground with kids twice her size. I also thought what life will be like a year from now....an even older little girl and a 9-month old little boy in tow. Wow! I will soak in every moment this year!!

Brynn's Sunflowers

Brynn planted some sunflower seeds a few months ago and we've been documenting the progression. We planted them on the driveway out of the property - to pretty it up, and so we would pass by them every time we drove or walked somewhere. She's so proud of her sunflowers.
